I have just finished reading some very interesting books of the bible. Mostly the seasons of the prophets, Isaiah and Jeremiah.

Very interesting characters, quite different in personality but both very sensitive and emotional men. I see clearly why God chose to not just speak through the mouth of these ones but also speak through their daily lives. They were among the few prophets who had the privilege (I say this not lightly at all), to not just speak of, but live out the plans of God for the children of Israel.

God actually had Prophet Isaiah lie on his left side for 390 days and then on his right side for 40 days. The number of days was symbolic to the time Israel spent in captivity (430 years).

These men had it very rough, which is why I called their service ‘a privilege’, because they’re up in heaven probably sitting in the biggest mansions, but it’s really more than that.

In reading the books, my eyes were further opened to the truth that God will not do anything on earth without informing a man, it is part of His justice system that a man must be aware of His plans. We see it through the times of Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses and a host of others. Unlike us that don’t kiss and tell, Jesus ‘kisses and tells’. He meets with a man and with koinonia, He tells the man of His plans and His intentions.

I found myself praying earnestly while reading those books that God should teach me more yielding and surrendering to Him because it is to the degree that we yield that we are aligned to even hear when He speaks.

It comes at a cost. As Kathryn Kuhlman will often say, “there is a price to pay”. Not every vessel can handle the glory and power that comes with walking with God that intimately. It is why the Israelites told Moses that they’ll rather Moses heard from God and came to tell them, rather than God speaking directly to them because they found the presence of God ‘scary’, but for those who had yielded and surrendered like Moses, it was a daily reality they looked forward to.

God desires that we desire His presence and His glory. As He reveals, we should be eager for more and more till we have all. In a recent message I listened to by Apostle Selman, He said “God is seeking vessels who will host all of Him and not more of Him”. We want more yes, but much more than that, we want all!

I don’t know if I want my life to speak to my generation yet like in the way of Isaiah and Jeremiah, but that’s only evidence for me that I have more yielding to do, but I do know that I want to be that Rubie that God seeks to kiss and tell of His plans. I don’t want to be caught surprised when God acts on the earth, knowing fully well that He’s spoken of it all to a man on the earth.

So Isaiah and Jeremiah study came with an awakening to further yielding and surrendering and I implore you to join me.

May we be men and women who become custodians and stewards of the times we go through in our generation, because we’re one with God, we have His mind. We must see, think and act like Him.
